Tea in 2nd Avenue at Aunty Moona's place. Only the second time i've ever visited here, but it always feels like the real Cape Town deal, being with people who have lived here all the lives and as soon as you walk in the door, you feel right at home.

Another Generation Pic
Huseinda, seated, is 95 years old, has a memory which would make most university students shy, and is also the only person I know who has recieved a letter from Mr Nelson Mandela himself congratulating him on his birthday this year. I kid you not, I had the honour of reading the letter myself.
As we sat there having our afternoon tea, Aunty Moona was in the middle of telling me the story of when they first moved in, and Huseinda, sharp as a tack, informed her that the year was 1955. I was totally gobsmacked! I cant even remember what colour socks I wore yesterday, and heres a man almost 3 times my age who can remember the month and year he moved into his home, almost 60 years back!!
We wish him many many more years of good health and amazing memory, and look forward to celebrating his century with him.

At Aunty Moona's
Black Steer
I really liked the way this place was done. Im a sucker for quotes and sayings, and these guys hit the nail on the head by filling the place with some real interesting sayings etched into glass panels. You can see the one behind The Maiden in the first pic, and in the second pic you'll notice the glass panels running along the centre aisle. A highly recommended visit to anyone feeling for great ribs and steak while in Cape Town.
Food For Thought
Lunch @ Black Steer
After getting the kids bathed, dressed and packed, and then getting ourselves sorted out, we finally left the house just after 4pm for what was supposed to have been a late lunch, but turned out to be an early supper. The venue was Black Steer in Claremont. A new establishment opened up by a family member of Ayubs.
I loved the setting and decor, especially those cool boards with the interesting sayings, as can be seen behind Nida in the first pic.

Sunset Beach
These are just a few of the homes on Sunset Beach. The last pic shows the home of a famous South African racing driver. I have no idea what his name is, so he cant be too famous, but its a palace nonetheless.
Just on a whim and a fancy, I called the Estate Agent for Sunset Beach and asked him what the home prices were in the area. R4,6 million starting. Not too bad when you consider what prime property is going for in the rest of the country.
