The Butterfly At 6 Months

Can you believe that just 6 months ago, she was just a wee las no bigger than my arm? Soon she'll be crawling, then walking, and before I know it she'll be maxing out my credit card. Aaah, the joys of fatherhood :)

Sabreen Can Count To 4!!

See, in the first pic you see her showing you how many fingers she can count on one hand. Actually she doesnt pronounce one, two, three, four very clearly. To be honest she skips one, two, three and just says four. Well to be honest she doesnt exactly say four, she says "Daahhhh"... but you know, as parents you quickly realise that your childs a real genius and its her way of saying "Look dad, four!!"

Remember when you were little and your folks tried that "One for you, one for me" trick to get you to eat whatever mushy fodder they figured was good for you?
Well, as a parent I can only offer you this piece of advice : DONT DO IT, EVER!!!

I figured i'd get The Butterfly eating her mushy smelly butternut by showing her how it's done. You know, the whole "One for you, one for me" deal. The plastic spoon hardly touched my tongue when my tastebuds went into overdrive and instructed my throat to clamp shut, my eyes began watering, there was this terrible ringing in my ears, and i think at one point I may have lost control of my gases (If the look on The Maidens face was anything to go by!).

Fine, i'll try anything once.
Today, mashed butternut.
Tomorrow, Bungee Jumping.

Keep that plate away from me, and nobody will get hurt!

I have to admit I actually did feel The Butterfly sorry when I saw the grub she had to eat. In the interest of not wasting, I took whatever she didnt finish and used it to remove oil and grease stains from my driveway.

Nooooo... keep that disgusting grub away from meeee!!!

Back To Basics

Having sorted out a temporary solution to my laptop woes, the Picture Ban has been lifted and normal programming will resume as of today.

Watch this space.

Oh, i've been so caught up lately in non-blog related matters that I totally forgot to mention this little fact..... we've now passed 450 visitors to the site in just over a month!!!

Not bad huh :)

In The Left Corner...

We took The Butterfly to see her peadiatrician today, and she had her first weight-check since birth. A healthy 7.5kg's and she's now ready to take on the wide world of solid foods. The Kiddy Doctor suggested we start her off with butternut whisked to a pulp. It didnt sound too appetising, and when I saw the finished product I must admit I wouldnt even want to clean my cars engine with that ugly yellow goo!

All in the name of 21st century parenting toward a healthy baby, I suppose.

Happy 33rd Birthday !!

Apologies to one and all for not having posted in such a long time. Much has happened since the last post, least of all being my laptop crashing.

Where shall I begin? Ok, so I celebrated my 33rd birthday on the 23rd of Jan. The Maiden threw a fabulous little get-together party with all my dearest and closest friends, and having The Butterfly looking around in awe and stealing the show would be the highlight.

The LG Factory Shop is going pretty well, and my New Years resolution is to take this project to the moon and make it an amazing success.

So nows your chance to wish me a Happy Belated Birthday and best of luck for the new venture :)

Meet The Baby Pope

Now finally, a word from the High Priestess of Cuteness. Im not sure whether she looks more like a Baby Pope, or the kid version of The Klu Klux Klan. Either way, she looks adorable :)

Pink-A-Boo

Falling asleep to a lullaby while listening to the waves crash in the background. Does childhood get any better than this?

Beach Bums

Sabreen and I checking out the waves, also in Hermanus.

Girl Power

The Buttterfly, The Maiden and Nida at a popular viewing point in Hermanus, overlooking the ocean.

Beach Boys

Karate Kid

Im too sexy for this beach! Peace... Out.

Renaming The Bench

Ok, so maybe I shouldnt have stuck that little bitsy piece of paper on this plaque, placed on a bench overlooking the ocean in Hermanus. But the bench was just asking for it, really ;)

Hermanus Trail

Hitting the trails in Hermanus. At least the town is smart enough to make their trails pram-friendly. Thank you Hermanus.

Rock Dassies

Rock Dassies, as found on Table Mountain and the rocky outcrops along the Hermanus shore. Larger than your average house cat, and im told theyre quite passive too... but I wasnt going to find out, since rumour has it that some of them have rabies.

Whale-Watchers Paradise

Hermanus, as seen through my lens.

Cape Union Mart Model

Im submitting this pic as an entry for the 2007 Cape Union Mart catalogue. Thats action-man Ayub in Hermanus.

On The Rocks

In Hermanus, on the rocks. I wasnt going to take a chance and get The Maiden or The Butterfly so close to the surf, so you're gonna have to put up with pics of me instead ;)

Surfs Up

Nothing like viewing the ocean way up close. This is in Hermanus. Pity the whales only come around in September.

Mountain Man

Im down at the bottom of this cliff, close to the breaking waves, taking a pic of Ayub filming with his video camera. I think im ready for those National Geographic shots now.

Welcome To Hermanus

My first visit here, but certainly not my last.

Road To Steenbras Dam

The road to the dam goes through this massive rock-cutout on the top of the mountain. The view from the top can be seen in the pics that follow.

The Merchant,The Maiden & The Butterfly

The star of the blog is in the pram, of course.

Ladies Man

Just the girls and I, in Gordons Bay.

All Eyes On You

Sightseeing from the pram, Butterfly Style.

Rashid Ahmed All Strapped Up

If you look closely, you'll see the same frown on his face as The Butterfly has when she's asleep.
