Wake Up, Or Else...

This is the phases The Butterfly goes through when she's trying to wake me up. First its the attempt at getting my attention by touching my face; then she stares me down until I open my eyes and look at her; if I go back to sleep I get the crabby face, and when all else fails, she pulls my blanket off me and starts ranting and raving!

Have I mentioned how I wouldnt change it for anything in the world? :)

This Is My Alarm Clock

8am, every day, 7 days a week, whether I like it or not :) Of course there are some days when the Alarm Clock decided to wake me up at 7am just for the fun of it.

8am And Ready To Start The Day

Of course that doesnt mean that the rest of us are ready to start the day at 8am, but thats of no concern to The Butterfly.

Did Someone Say Snow?

Yes folks, this is central Johannesburg early this morning :)

I think the last time it snowed this much in JHB was back in the 80's, but I stand to correction on that. The weather forecast for the next few days says we should hover around the minus 2 to minus 5 degree range. A far cry from Dubai, where the winters were in the mid 30's.

I would have loved to have taken The Butterfly out into the snow early this morning, but she's come down with a bit of a cold and the sniffles, so in bed right between us is where she'll be, warmly tucked up and dreaming of hot chocolate and marshmallows. Ok, thats my dream, but you get the picture :)

One Month Away

In just over a months time, she's gonna be 1 Year Old !!!

How time flys. It seems like just yesterday when she was this tiny being who could fit in one hand. I was going through the blog the other night, and realised that the best thing I could ever have done was start the blog. Its the perfect way to record, in pictures, her growth through the months.

This is The Butterfly one month since you last saw her.

Progress Report: Well, she's learnt how to dance and shake what her momma gave her ;)
She's also learnt how to say Dada, which means she's already in the 2% of Super-Intelligent childrens bracket. No, seriously :)

The 7 Year Itch

Its been 3 weeks since i've last posted, and thats only because there have been so many things to celebrate in that time, that I just never got down to updating the blog.

The Maiden and I celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary on the 18th of June. Thats right, 7 years :) I was thinking the other day how quickly those 7 years had passed, and how much we have achieved in that space of time. All it did was make me look forward to the years ahead, which is an entirely good thing :)

The Palms
